What will I learn during the course and which options are offered?
During the course you’ll learn the most important concepts and techniques that will allow you to play Baroque and Classical music in style. You’ll understand the main differences between Baroque and Romantic interpretation and know what you should do in order to interpret the pieces according to the period they were written in.
After learning specific exercises that will help you to understand these concepts, you’ll get to integrate the technical work directly into the most important pieces in the flute repertoire.
The course has 2 options you can choose from:
Option 1 – The basic course:
- Class no.1:Â Learn the most important concepts for Baroque and Classical interpretation and receive exercises to practice.
- Class no.2:Â Work on a Mozart Concerto (in G or D Major)
- Class no.3:Â Choose a Baroque piece you’d like to improve and focus on it
Option 2 – Extended course with orchestral auditions focus:
- Classes no. 1-3: Similar to the basic course
- Class no. 4: Work on Baroque and Classical orchestral excerpts (by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Gluck etc.)
Is the course recorded or live?
My main goal is to guide you through and allow you to achieve the best results out of course. Therefore, I’ve decided to make the course personal and work individually with each one of the participants.
The course will take place during 3 or 4 live online classes together with me. Together, we’ll be able to make sure you fully understand the concepts and techniques and manage to integrate them into the pieces we’ll work together on.
Which level do I need for the course?
This course is planned for advanced hobby musicians, students and professional flutists who wish to deepen their understanding of the authentic interpretation of Baroque and Classical period music.Â
You’ll need to able to play one of the Concertos by Mozart and a Baroque piece (it could be a sonata by Bach, a Fantasia by Telemann or any other Baroque piece you wish to work on).Â
